RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE!

Each week our residents working tirelessly to maintain their own sobriety, while also reaching out to bring the newcomer along with them. It is an awesome thing to be able to tell someone, “hey, me too”, “I’ve been there”, “I understand what you’re going through”.

I remember when I was early on in my sobriety, it brought me immeasurable peace to know that I was not alone and had a group of men at HIA that had been where I had been and were going where I was going. I have come to realize that this journey of recovery is not easy.

In fact, it can be very difficult learning to live a clean and sober life one day at a time. But what we know at Hope is Alive is this, RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE! We strive to carry this message to all of our residents. One way that we are able to show our residents that RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE is by celebrating! Celebrating residents’ accomplishments and feats is a very important part of what we do at HIA. It gives the newer residents the belief and understanding that one day that could be them celebrating a promotion at work, accomplishing a quarterly goal, or celebrating a sobriety birthday.

Every Sunday night we celebrate sobriety birthdays and 2016 has been a BIG YEAR at HIA. As of today, there are 20 combined years of sobriety in each of our four men’s homes. That is a combined 245 months of continuous sobriety. In addition, our graduates have a combined 27 years of continuous sobriety. When you add that up it totals out to 47 years of sobriety that have come as a result of God’s grace and the work He is doing in and through Hope is Alive Ministries.

Below is a spotlight of each of our current residents who have celebrated one year clean and sober in 2016:

 

 

 

 

 

Jordan A.:Jordan moved into our homes in July of 2015 and is slated to graduate mid-December. Has been a house manager for over ten months and is an incredible friend and leader to many of our residents! He achieved one-year of sobriety on June 10, 2016.

Devon A.: Devon moved into our homes in January of 2016 after completing 90 days at Rob’s Ranch Treatment Center. He worked tirelessly at his recovery, both in AA and in our program. Devon was currently promoted to a full-time staff position and will be moving to Tulsa soon to open our new home there! He celebrated one-year of sobriety on October 30, 2016.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thomas S.:Thomas completed 90 days of treatment at Rob’s Ranch and moved into Hope is Alive in April of 2016. He celebrated one-year of sobriety on November 2, 2015 and is soon to be our newest house manager! Thomas has gone above and beyond the requirements of Hope is Alive and as a result has shown tremendous growth in all facets of his recovery.

Andrew B.:Andrew moved into HIA in February of 2016 after completing 90 days of treatment at COPAC. Andrew reached one year of sobriety on October 7, 2016.

 

 

 

 

 

Phil S.: Phil moved into our program in January of 2016 after completing 90 days at Rob’s Ranch. While in our program, Phil has become a house manager and has thrived through the brotherhood we have at HIA. Phil achieved one year of sobriety on October 3, 2016 and is planning on giving his one-year ring from Rob’s Ranch to his daughter for Christmas!

Nick P.: Nick moved into Hope is Alive in August of 2016 after completing treatment at COPAC and living in sober living in Mississippi. He quickly transitioned into our program and is a spiritual leader among our men. Nick plans on joining the YWAM discipleship training school in January and I believe that he is going to change the world!

Dylan G.: Dylan moved into our program in November of 2015 after completing treatment at Sante Center. He celebrated one-year clean and sober on August 4, 2015.

“Getting a year of sobriety is one of my greatest accomplishments, but I can’t take all the credit. I’m challenged every single day at HIA. This fellowship offers great accountability, encouragement and the support I needed to get on my feet and build the foundation necessary for a bright future. I’m blessed with a group of men who push me to be a better person everyday. I’m so grateful to be able to do life in sobriety with the men of Hope is Alive and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the brothers around me.” -Dylan

We are incredibly proud of each of these men! They have fought hard for their recovery and have pioneered the landscape of Hope is Alive for years to come. These men’s stories are made possible through your prayers and support.
