Lance Lang
Founder, Executive Director
Lance Lang has devoted his life to inspiring hope in those suffering from addiction, sharing his own journey from addiction to brokenness to freedom. From growing up as a pastor’s son, under the watchful eye of small-town America, to leading a $30 million project management firm at the age of 25, pressure to perform and live up to others’ expectations was a way of life for Lance. As the heaviness of these burdens grew, Lance turned to drugs and alcohol to keep up, creating a years-long cycle of abuse and addiction that destroyed his hope and left him in a reclusive, depressive state he thought would be his life forever.
But God had a different plan.
Lance’s pull to sobriety is nothing short of a miracle. God pursued him and in a moment’s notice changed everything in his life. Since getting clean & sober in April of 2011, Lance has gone on to inspire thousands of others to do the same.
In October of 2012, Lance founded Hope is Alive Ministries. Today HIA has ten homes filled with men and women working to restore their lives. He has written five books and tells his story hundreds of times each year all across the country.
Lance’s books and blog have helped thousands of parents, addicts and love-ones find hope and freedom.
Allyson Lang
Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer
Allyson Lang joined the Hope is Alive team in August of 2015, at the inception of the Women’s Mentoring Homes. Allyson creates unique programming, oversees the Hope is Alive Mentoring Program and provides support and direction to our Program Managers. Allyson loves working beside her husband everyday, enjoys time with her dog and cat and relishes her role of being the self appointed “Fun Czar” of HIA.
Blake Wieland
Director of Development
Blake Wieland joined the HIA team in November of 2017. Blake is a graduate of the Hope is Alive Program and is currently our Director of Development. He is responsible for all fundraising efforts and coordinates our volunteer involvement. Blake loves to make people laugh, enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is very grateful for God’s Grace!
Amanda White
OKC Women's Program Manager
Amanda White has been part of the HIA Staff since November, 2017 as the Oklahoma City Women’s Program Manager. As Program Manager, she directly oversees all the women in the OKC Program. She’s an HIA Grad & loves giving back what was so freely given to her. Amanda likes to teach, connect with women, and adores her dogs!
Zach Schemmer
OKC Men's Program Manager
Zach Schemmer joined the Hope is Alive team in June of 2016. Zach is a graduate of the Hope is Alive Program & oversees the men’s program in OKC. He provides guidance on the journey towards recovery with each male resident. Zach enjoys sharing Jesus with others, cold brew coffee, and playing basketball with the guys!
Devon Arnold
Tulsa Market Manager
Devon Arnold joined the HIA Team in September of 2016. Devon is an HIA Grad and oversees the Tulsa Men’s Program, while also assisting with market development, church partnership and co-leading our Tulsa Finding Hope Support Groups. Devon loves to spend time with his family and pets, enjoys playing strategy games, watching movies with his friends.
Katiana Johnson joined the HIA team September of 2017. Katiana is a graduate of the HIA Program and aides in market development, church partnership and also oversees the Tulsa Women’s Program. She enjoys sharing her experience, strength, and hope with everyone she meets and is passionate about doing God’s work through this ministry!
